Project Researcher

Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex

Engineer in agronomy (AgroParisTech) and holder of a master’s degree in energy economics (IFP School), Victor defended in 2016 a PhD thesis in economics (Université Paris Nanterre) on the relationship between the Energy-Return-on-Investment (EROI) of energy systems and long-term economic growth. After spending another year in Paris as a post-doctoral researcher (Ecole Normale Supérieure), Victor is now a research fellow at the Science Policy Research Unit of the University of Sussex, a research associate at the Chair Energy & Prosperity, and a project researcher at the Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS).

As part of the Digital Society Theme of the new Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS), Victor’s work currently focuses on the determinants of the net impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on energy consumption.

This project is part of a broader research agenda on the interaction between technological change, energy transition, and long-term economic development.
