Project researcher
Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex
In addition to his CREDS research, Bernardo is working on his PhD in Science and Technology Policy studies at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex, under the supervision of Tommaso Ciarli and Maria Savona. His research looks at the process of structural change in Sub-Saharan Africa with particular attention to the role of innovation, inclusion and informality. He also holds a research and teaching PhD scholarship awarded by the University of Sussex Business School.
Prior to joining SPRU, he worked as Evaluation Research Analyst at the Independent Office of Evaluation of the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), and was a visiting research fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, working with the Rural Futures cluster. He also worked as project manager for the NGO “Joint”, which is active in the field of capacity building for the youth.
