Paul McKenzie is an expert in geographical information systems (GIS) with a strong focus on fuel poverty. His research uses spatial data to build area-based models that can be used to identify vulnerable communities. Paul’s work has been funded by local government departments and it has informed fuel poverty strategies – for example the allocation of over £55 million of energy efficiency measures in vulnerable homes in Northern Ireland.
