Scottish Government consultation on Energy Efficient Scotland proposals: consultation response

Consultation response   Policy & Governance

Jan Webb and Mags Tingey

This Scottish Government consultation was on Energy Efficient Scotland’s proposals to deliver its objective to bring homes up to at least EPC Band C by 2030, 10 years earlier than originally envisaged.

Summary of response

CREDS researchers Jan Webb and Mags Tingey were part of the Heat and the City team responding to the Scottish Government’s consultation on the Energy Efficient Scotland programme.

The response endorses a move to mandatory requirements for energy efficiency, alongside training/skills support for the building supply chain and for local government building control services. There is also discussion on encouraging landlords to invest in energy efficiency improvements, and in incentivising district heat networks.
