Elizabeth Shove
Elizabeth Shove has published a short paper in Nature Energy entitled Time to rethink energy research. Some of the ideas discussed in this piece come from interactions and discussions within CREDS. The paper argues that a shift towards renewables calls for a major overhauling not only of infrastructures and systems of provision, but of how energy is conceptualised and understood. Without a transformation of this kind energy research will remain ‘fossilised’: unable to escape the past and constitutionally unable to engage with the challenges that lie ahead.
