This project is developing governance and policy approaches to support improved resource productivity strategies.
Governance and monitoring approaches
Ongoing collaborative work has highlighted that the economic sectors responsible for the majority of resource use are also responsible for the majority of industrial energy use and carbon emissions. This project is focused on developing governance approaches (in collaboration with CREDS projects in Policy & Governance) and policy frameworks that support improved resource productivity within key industrial sectors.
The project addresses the need to identify how resource efficiency improvements can be realised in reality. This involves close interaction with BEIS and other UK Government departments to establish of role of different stakeholders to achieve substantial reductions in energy demand.
