We are delighted to announce we will be working with Go-Science on a new Foresight Project to support the UK’s 2050 net-zero target
We are delighted to be working with Go-Science on a new Foresight Project to support the UK’s 2050 net-zero target
The Government Office for Science announced the project in November 2021 which aims to provide the evidence and tools needed to understand how behaviours could impact net-zero.
The modelling we undertook as part of our positive low energy futures work will directly feed into the project. A team of CREDS researchers will work in partnership with Go-Science to develop a set of future scenarios and explore their implications for the energy system and for different groups within society.
A final report is expected at the end of 2022 alongside a guide on how to use the findings for policy teams in government.
John Barrett, who heads up CREDS’ positive low energy futures project says:
Reducing energy demand involves both the rapid roll out of technologies alongside transformative changes in the way we live. We are delighted to work with the Government Office for Science to help understand the role of society in delivering net-zero.
