Tim is Professor of Transport Studies and Director of the Transport Studies Unit (TSU) in the School of Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford. Tim also leads the Geography School at St Anne’s College, University of Oxford where he teaches human geography tutorials.
Tim is currently also a Visiting Professor in Human Geography at the School of Business, Economics and Law of the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
Tim’s current research can be situated at the intersection of urban, transport, social and cultural geography. Empirically the focus is usually on the everyday mobilities of people, goods and information. This research can be organised around five more general concerns: low-carbon mobilities, futures and temporality, social and spatial inequality, well-being, and philosophies of transport and mobility.
