Abstract
In the ten years of Environmental Innovation and Societal Transitions publishing, sustainability transitions have advanced in some domains, yet much remains to be done. For these transitions to grow, accelerate, and be socially accepted, our research needs to integrate an intentionally spatial whole systems justice approach that combines thinking from justice, geography and existing transition frameworks. Using examples from the energy, transport, fashion and food sectors, we call for sustainability transitions research to reveal, consider and mitigate injustices that can occur across the entire chain of innumerate inherently global systems.
