This BEIS consultation invited ideas for promoting and delivering investment in energy efficiency schemes in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Summary of our response

In this joint response by CREDS and UKERC (UK Energy Research Centre), an SME energy efficiency obligation scheme (EEOS) is identified as a mechanism that could contribute to the UK’s carbon reduction targets, as well as conferring other benefits to individual SMEs and the economy more widely.

The response also offers recommendations on other energy efficiency policy initiatives, and how to target particular groups of SMEs.
