Digital platforms for the sharing economy
This project is investigating the growth of digital platforms for facilitating the sharing economy. These platforms enable consumers to access under-utilised physical assets, such as accommodation and vehicles, using both business-to-consumer and consumer-to-consumer business models. The project is surveying users of the platform to assess their motivations, use and experiences with the platform, as well as interviewing platform providers to understand their business strategies and the anticipated impacts on energy use.
